What do we offer?

Comprehensive Eye Examination

The Optometrist and staff at Eyecare Optician strive to exceed our patient’s expectations, and we are continually updating and improving our services and products. We would like to walk you through what to expect at your vision and eye health evaluation.

The Optometrist will meet you in the Examination Room and discuss any visual concerns you may have. They will then determine if there is a change in your eyewear prescription and guide you on the appropriate lens choices that would meet your lifestyle needs such as computer glasses, sports eyewear, safety glasses, varifocals or bifocals to name a few. Next, the Optometrist measures your eye pressure for glaucoma and dilating drops to assist in diagnosing eye diseases if necessary.

OCT machine is used to scan your retina to find out in detail about other eye conditions or disorders such as cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal and macular diseases.

At Eyecare Cambridge, we communicate with you throughout the examination process to keep you aware of what we are doing and why. The Optometrists appreciate any questions you may have and are always happy to address your concerns.

Colorimetry

We can help those that suffer with visual stress (blurring and moving text) by using specific format or adding a specific tint into spectacles. For many, this allows the pleasure of comfortable reading.

Optical Coherence Tomography

We can offer OCT - an extremely advanced imaging technique which is simple, quick and non-invasive. This allows us to see key structures within your eye and offer immediate action or advice if necessary. With 3D images stored, any changes can be carefully monitored at each visit.

Having an OCT health check in combination with your normal eye test will allow us to obtain the most detailed information about your overall eye-health. Early detection will lead to timely treatment and better outcomes for the health of your eye and your overall health. OCT is suitable for all ages, including children and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Paediatric Optometry

Cambridge Eyecare prides itself in creating a child-friendly atmosphere. We enjoy providing eye care to children and recommend an initial assessment by 3 years of age or sooner if you have concerns about your child's vision or there is a family history of an ocular condition. 80% of a children's learning is based on vision and 1 in 6 school-aged children experience learning difficulties which are a result of unknown or uncorrected vision conditions. Typically a children's eye examination is enjoyable and we adapt the exam based on your children's age and capabilities. Your child does not need to know their letters to have a thorough assessment! We do colorimetric eye test to assess visual confusion and dyslexia.

if your child has an eye turn (strabismus), weak eye (amblyopia), requires a prescription, or has an eye health concern. On occasion, eye drops need to be used to better determine if glasses are required or to rule out an ocular health condition. If Optometrist recommends eye drops, this will be discussed in depth with the parent so that all questions are addressed.

Our Eyewear Boutique has an excellent selection of children's glasses. These frames are durable and we always use an impact resistant lens to suit a children's active lifestyle. We stand by our eyewear with a one & two-year frame and lens warranty.
